Note-taking is an essential part of college success. As with any skill, becoming a competent notetaker requires practice and patience. In this module you learned a number of note-taking strategies and tips and why effective note-taking is so important.

Don’t feel discouraged if a particular strategy does not feel right for you. Much of this is trial and error, and with persistence you will develop a style that works best for you.

You are now able to:

  • describe the purpose for taking lecture notes
  • identify strategies for note-taking
