Immediately Before the Exam

If your test is in the morning, set your alarm and have a backup alarm set as well.

Eat something before a test. Having food in your stomach will give you energy and help you focus, but avoid heavy foods that can make you groggy.

Try to show up at least 5 minutes early to class the day of the exam.

Use the restroom before walking into the exam room.

Bring these things with you to the exam:

  • at least two pens/pencils with good erasers
  • any resources that your instructor permits during testing
  • a watch - so that you can better pace yourself
